H9 Harmonizer Gen 2
When Eventide retired the original H9 in favor of the flagship H90, plenty of players mourned the loss of the one-algorithm-at-a-time wonder box that had anchored a decade of pedalboards. The H9 Harmonizer Gen 2 is Eventide's answer: the classic single-slot H9 concept rebuilt from the ground up on the H90's modern ARM architecture. That means the entire 74-algorithm library from the H90 and H9 Max lives inside — every H910/H949 pitch shifter, Blackhole reverb, CrystalEcho, TremoloPan and beyond — with over 1,000 factory presets and full compatibility with legacy H9 preset lists. Where the original H9 famously shipped with a single knob and a whole lot of app dependence, Gen 2 adds a crisp 2.5-inch display and three Quick Knobs that put the most important parameters of each algorithm directly under your fingers, so deep editing no longer requires reaching for your phone mid-soundcheck. Stereo ins and outs, MIDI, and expression control carry over, keeping it as studio-friendly as it is board-friendly. The result sits in an interesting spot in Eventide's lineup: all of the H90's sonic DNA at a fraction of the size and price, aimed at players who want one spectacular effect at a time rather than dual-engine routing. For anyone who ever ran a Space or TimeFactor, or who wants Eventide's legendary pitch-shifting heritage — the same lineage Frank Zappa and Eddie Van Halen tapped into via the rackmount Harmonizers — this is the most accessible doorway yet.
